What is Generic Keyword Density?

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the early days of SEO, webmasters would "stuff" keywords to rank higher.

Today, Google's algorithms are smarter. While keyword stuffing (repeating the same word unnaturally) can get you penalized, maintaining a healthy balance (usually 1% - 2.5%) helps search engines understand the topic of your page without flagging it as spam.
